From My Hands to Yours
Beggars Ride Farm
"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride..."
from a 16th century English nursery rhyme
We all have wishes, mine was for a farm. While I’ve never had a big operation, I have been planting and tending gardens for a half century. Flowers have always claimed a large portion of my gardens. My first flower customer was a Boston Wholesale Flower Market vendor who bought my Sweetpea flowers.
For many years, I grew and dried flowers and herbs to craft into wreaths and bouquets. Candle making was added to the enterprise when a beekeeper friend introduced me to the delights of beeswax. Since then, I've handrolled thousands of candles. In 2023, I launched Wild Beauties, a collection of made on the farm, organically sourced body care items. I invite you to discover the candlelight, scents, and bodily pleasures from Beggars Ride Farm and Wild Beauties. Thanks for supporting my Ride! Natalie Woodroofe

What I Make
For more than half a century, my time as an organic gardener has shown me how I feed and tend the earth deeply influences what my flower, herb and vegetable gardens give back. Beeswax has also been a teacher. Its literal malleability, embedded flower pollen, scent and medicinal properties make it ideal for the making of things. After years of handrolling beeswax candles, I began to use it to craft small batches of balms, salves and lotion bars.
Wild Beauties literally melts together beeswax and infused organic oils comprised of my long time organic flower garden friends - Lavender, Rosa rugosa and Calendula - and Dandelions gathered from my unsprayed fields. All are air dried and then infused in organic Olive oil for at least sixty days to concentrate their healing properties. I blend the flower infused oils with beeswax, other organic oils and plant-based butters, and essential oils. Given the perilous environmental state of our planet, I have chosen to package my Wild Beauties items in tins that can be reused or recycled by my customers.

What one customer says... “Last night my hands were a mess from working on glass for hours, so I used my lotion bar, and this morning my hands are back to normal - magical! I highly recommend Natalie's products, because they work and they smell terrific.” Melanie Hamilton, owner of Hamilton Stained Glass On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mhstainedglass Etsy shop: HamiltonStainedGlass
And another...
"I keep the dandelion or calendula (currently my favorite) lotion bars in my car, kitchen, purse and next to my bed. I love being able to sooth my arms and hands (and sometimes my lips!) anywhere I am! Thank you for creating these magical, beautiful bars, Natalie."
Elizabeth Henley, long time customer
