Beeswax Candles

Beeswax candles have been the preferred choice of royalty, churches, and common folk for centuries. Discover the faint honey scent and beautiful golden light of these hand-rolled beauties. All Beggars Ride Farm candles are simply made with 100% beeswax and cotton wicking.

The color of your candles is determined by what flowers the bees visit rather than any added dyes. The coloring occurs as honeybees mix wax with pollen, a touch of honey, enzymes and propolis, which derives from a resin made of bark, leaf buds and other plant pieces. The mixture gives beeswax its hearty, sticky structure and my candles their delightful honey color (and smell!).

Our candles are long burning. Times below are for continuous burning. If, over time, your candle is extinguished and relit, it will last longer. Pairs typically burn for 5½ hours. More than enough time for that lovely dinner party or other intimate events. Pillars, depending upon their height and width, burn from 7 to 10+ hours. Most people will not burn them in one sitting, so they will tend to last longer.

Beeswax burns brightly. The light is much stronger and brighter than that of other types of candle.

The color variants are introduced into the beeswax as honeybees mix wax with pollen, a touch of honey, enzymes and something called propolis, which derives from a resin made of bark, leaf buds and other plant pieces. The mixture is what gives beeswax its hearty, sticky structure and natural beeswax candles their delightful honey color (and smell!). The variants in the color reflect the makeup of the pollen, honey, and propolis in that moment.

Beeswax is Air Purifying
Beeswax candles emit negative ions. Some say these negative ions stimulate the pituitary gland, increasing creativity, intuition, and dream activity. Beeswax candles are a great candle option for people with allergies, asthma, sinus issues and sensitivities.

Taking Care Lastly, be sure to place your candles in holders or on other fireproof materials. Place candles away from drafts and trim the wick after your initial burn. Never leave burning candles unattended!
